Lynn Mazza
Union Memorial Colchester
Lynn Mazza, a Union Memorial School educator with the Colchester School district, is well known for her positive outlook on life. Her zest carries over into her passion for volunteering, specifically with the Ronald McDonald House which offers housing for families of pediatric patients admitted to the hospital. Her enthusiasm has proved to be contagious; once a month she and her colleagues at UMS purchase food and prepare meals for 25 people staying at the Ronald McDonald House. And once a year she encourages folks to eat for a cause at the annual Wait-A-Thon which benefits the Ronald McDonald House. “I always find a festive outfit to wear while waiting on the tables,” Mazza said.
Recently Mazza and her husband have taken up beekeeping. “After raising our children we were looking for something we could enjoy together,” she said. “We tried tennis and woodworking and eventually settled on taking up bees and making honey.”
“Lynn strives to be physically active often engaging others and has a patient and nonjudgmental approach to working with others, said her colleague, Carol McCleary. “She always participates in the PATH Adventure with enthusiasm.”
